The primary objectives of this program are to:
(a) increase across-discipline involvement in CHR grant proposals, and
(b) increase the amount of federally-funded research administered through the CHR.
As a byproduct, this initiative is expected to enrich the research environment for graduate students and faculty in the College of Nursing. Any WSU faculty with a full-time appointment to a unit other than the CON is eligible to apply for a CHR Collaborating Faculty Scholar Award if he/she meets the following requirements:
(a) has a program of research that overlaps with the CON faculty member's research interests and
(b) has an established record of obtaining and successfully completing federal research grants.
Applications are accepted during the Fall semester from Collaborating Scholar Applicants who have identified a CON faculty researcher with whom to collaborate. Last date to submit is December 1, 2007. The award is described in detail on the WSU Research website and is available through the CHR.
To be considered for an award, the outside CHR Collaborating Faculty Scholar applicant and CON faculty must commit to submission of an NIH grant proposal by the October/November 2008 submission cycle.
For more information or to request an application, contact the CHR at 577-4135.
