LifeLine Awards

The Wayne State College of Nursing presents its LifeLine Awards, the College’s premier fundraising event, on the last Thursday of September each year.

In addition to raising thousands of dollars for student nursing scholarships and faculty recruitment, the LifeLine Awards also recognize outstanding individuals for their contributions to health care. In 2008, the honorees were Molina Healthcare, Inc., executives J. Mario Molina, MD, president and CEO; Martha (Molina) Bernadett, MD, executive vice president of research and development; and John C. Molina, chief financial officer; and Ronald E. Hall, president and CEO of Detroit-based Bridgewater Interiors.

In addition, Nancy King Reame, PhD, the Mary Dickey Lindsay Professor of Nursing and director of the Doctor of Nursing Science program at the Columbia University School of Nursing in New York, was honored as the 2008 College of Nursing Alumna of the Year.

Established in 2001, the LifeLine Awards honor those who have made a difference in health care as caregivers, administrators, and innovators or through policy changes that support quality and positive changes in health care delivery. The College of Nursing Board of Visitors hosts the event.

For more information on the LifeLine Awards, please contact Meg Callow, director of development for the College of Nursing, at (313) 577-6967 or mcallow@wayne.edu.
