LifeLine Awards

  • The College of Nursing will hold its premier fundraising event, the 7th annual LifeLine Awards, on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Detroit Yacht Club.

In addition to raising thousands of dollars for student nursing scholarships, the LifeLine Awards also annually recognize outstanding individuals for their contributions in health care. This year’s honorees are Nancy Schlichting, president of Henry Ford Health System, and the late Dr. Rachel Keith, the esteemed physician and member of the College’s Board of Visitors. In addition, Dorothy (Dottie) Deremo, president and CEO of Hospice of Michigan, will also be honored as the 2007 College of Nursing Alumni of the Year.

Donald Davis, vice president of human resources at Health Alliance Plan, and Diana Jones, vice president of Blue Cross – Blue Shield of Michigan, will be honorary chairs. Carolyn Clifford, anchor and health reporter at WXYZ-TV Channel 7, will serve as mistress of ceremonies.

Established in 2001, the LifeLine Awards honor those who have made a difference in health care as caregivers, administrators, and innovators or through policy changes that support quality and positive changes in health care delivery.

Tickets begin at $125.00. For more information, please call Mary Hollens at 313-577-6967.
