Student Nurses Association Class Representatives

Vicki Speyer
Traditional Senior
vicki.speyer@gmail.com

I am a senior in the traditional BSN program and I currently work as a Student Nurse Associate at Harper Hospital in the DMC. What I like most about SNA is the opportunity that it provides to get involved. I also think that it provides a great way to get to know some of the other students at different places throughout both the traditional and CD2 nursing program.  As the senior class representative I communicate the interests and goals of our senior class to SNA, and also keep our class up to date with what is going with SNA.

Cyndi Engelhardt
CD2 2009
bs8960@wayne.edu

Cyndi is in her last semester the CD2 accelerated nursing program. She brings with her a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration, having worked nearly 7.5 years in the consulting industry (primarily automotive). Her switch to the healthcare industry was driven by a desire for a career that is more personally meaningful. She feels it would be a great honor and privilege to support individuals in some of their greatest moments of fear and need. When time allows, she enjoys traveling the globe, swimming, reading, and spending time with her golden retriever, "Keyla".

Terri Hayes
CD2 2010
terrijhayes@aol.com

I am a first year CD2 and am currently not working, just trying to make it through the program.  When I officially become a RN I would like to be either a surgical nurse or work in OB/GYN.  I joined SNA as I feel it's very important to be involved in a group that is in your field of study, it helps with networking and helps to have others who share your interests and know what you are going through with school.  My goal in being the 2010 CD2 class representative is to keep the rest of my classmates aware of what is going on outside of their studies and to bring questions and concerns they may have to the table during the SNA meetings.

Ryan Thorne
Traditional Junior
al5282@wayne.edu

I am currently a junior in the traditional nursing program. I currently work as a Nurse Tech at Beaumont Hospital.  I stay really busy between work and school but in my spare time, I enjoy working on computers, scuba diving, flying, and relaxing with my girlfriend Melissa, friends and family. My long-term goal is to continue my education and pursue an advanced degree in Nursing.

Tracey Laporte
Traditional Sophomore
du8187@wayne.edu

I am first year nursing student in the traditional program. I currently have one job and it is a waitress position at a restaurant called Moxies in Windsor. During the summer I also work Windsor Regional Hospital as a summer relief for the student summer program. I really enjoy SNA because it gives me an opportunity to get involved in the school and allows me to meet new people and socialize while still being productive to help raise money for the school of nursing. My goal is to contribute as much as possible in order to help raise money for the school of nursing and also get the most out of the association in order to enrich my experience at Wayne State.
