Biography: Jeffrey is a junior in the traditional nursing program. He currently works as a Nurse Technician at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Jeffrey is actively involved in the university and is the College of Nursing representative to the student council and a member of the Community Affairs committee. In his spare time, Jeffrey enjoys playing tennis, watching TV, and relaxing with friends and family. He is humbled to be President of the Student Nurses’ Association and looks forward to an exciting and eventful year! Goals for SNA: To be a resource for students to further their knowledge of nursing through social, educational, and volunteer opportunities and to be the voice for the student population. |

Biography: Stephanie is a junior in the traditional nursing program. She currently works as a Nurse Technician at St. John's Providence Hospital and Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. For leisure, Stephanie enjoys reading, sleeping, and doing anything outdoors. She has deeply enjoyed the nursing experience thus far and hopes to further her nursing education after graduation. Goals for SNA: To bring more students into the group and to make their experience in the group beneficial. |

Biography: Alison is a senior in the CD2 accelerated nursing program. She currently works as a nurse extern at Oakwood Hospital on a med-surge floor. Alison enjoys giving back through volunteer work and is a Beaumont Hospice volunteer. In addition, Alison has participated in Detroit’s Winter Blast, Multiple Sclerosis walk, Race for the Cure, Walk of Life, and Habitat for Humanity mini-marathon. Alison is an avid exerciser and likes running, Pilates, biking, hiking, swimming, walking, kickboxing, and other various sports. She is currently training for the Detroit Marathon. Spending time with her family is important to Alison. “I love hanging out with my three-year-old son. He’s a hoot!” Alison is passionate about traveling and experiencing other cultures. She loves listening to all kinds of music and playing the piano. Alison enjoys nursing and plans to further her nursing education Goals for SNA: To raise scholarship money for current and incoming students and to get students excited about SNA and encourage them to be involved in the organization. |

Biography: Shawn is a junior in the traditional nursing program. He currently works as a Nurse Technician at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. Shawn went into nursing because he loves helping people and seeing the benefits of his work firsthand through his patients. Shawn has acquired a good amount of experience working amongst nurses and fellow classmates and has aspirations of becoming a critical-care nurse. For leisure, Shawn enjoys bicycling with friends around the city, playing DDR in the Student Center’s basement, returning to his piano studies after a 15-year hiatus, training for his first Detroit Marathon, and being a freelance DJ as one-half of the dynamic DJ’ing duo, Koala Butter. He joined SNA because of the organization’s emphasis on academic success, community service, and camaraderie among peers. |

Rhea enjoys traveling, making jewelry, reading, and playing video games. Rhea enjoys nursing and looks forward to the school year. Biography: Maria is a junior in the traditional nursing program. She currently works as a Nurse Technician at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and as a Nurse Extern at Oakwood Hospital on the CVCU. When not working or busy with school Maria enjoys playing and watching many sports, spending time up north in the summer, laughing at her favorite TV show Will & Grace and following politics on MSNBC. Her long term goal is to successfully graduate from the nursing program and find her place in healthcare. Goals for SNA: To encourage membership growth, to expand community service projects, and to continue providing a good support network for other nursing students. |
