Master of Science in Nursing

Admission to the MSN program
Admission to the graduate programs of the College is contingent upon admission to the Wayne State University Graduate School and the availability of College of Nursing resources. Master's program students must also meet the following criteria for admission:
     1. Completion of a baccalaureate degree from a National League for Nursing (NLN) or          Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited program with an          honor point average of 2.8 or above in upper division course work.
     2. Professional competence as documented by three references.
     3. Current Michigan Registered Nurse licensure. All applicants educated outside of the          U.S. must be certified by the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing          Schools (CGFNS) to obtain Michiganlicensure.
     4. A personal statement of goals for graduate study.
     5. The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is not required for admission to the MSN          program.

Each of the clinical areas may have additional requirements.

The College holds information meetings each month on its graduate programs. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of these meetings prior to applying to the program. The schedule of informational meetings can be found here
