Wayne State University, located in the heart of Detroit’s Cultural Center, offers students unrivaled connectivity to resources enabling them to achieve success in their chosen fields of study. The Carnegie Foundation classifies Wayne State University as a doctoral-extensive research university – ranking Wayne State in the top 2.5 percent of all institutions. The National Science Foundation ranks Wayne State as among the top 50 public research universities.  WSU offers baccalaureate and graduate education at 13 colleges and schools located on a sprawling 203-acre campus.  
 
Founded in 1945, the College of Nursing is one of the nation’s premier nursing education institutions. Wayne State’s undergraduate and graduate programs are consistently ranked in the top 10 percent of all nursing schools by U.S. News and World Report and The Gourman Report. Ranked the No. 5 doctoral nursing program in the country, the College runs the oldest nursing research center in the country with more than $8 million in annual funding. The college partners with the WSU School of Medicine, the nine-hospital Detroit Medical Center and the Karmanos Cancer Institute to provide training opportunities in an urban environment. The college’s graduates are prominent researchers, deans, professors and nurse leaders in the United States and in countries all over the world.  College of Nursing BSN graduates consistently pass the NCLEX licensing exam with a pass rate exceeding 97%.

In addition to enrolling more than 600 nursing students on our main campus, the college also offers graduate outreach programs throughout the State of Michigan.
