The Board of Visitors serves as a dynamic and effective resource for the College of Nursing. This select group of business executives, civic leaders and medical professionals – all of whom share an abiding interest in the future of nursing and health care – provides a necessary link between the College and the community at large. Board members act as public advocates for the College of Nursing, secure financial support for scholarships and other CON initiatives, and make personal financial gifts that serve as an example to others.
The stated mission of the Board of Visitors is to “advise the Dean of the College of Nursing on the strategic direction of the College. The Board offers the Dean a vital perspective on how to align the College’s research programs, educational goals and professional activities with the health care and consumer community. They are an invaluable resource in efforts to strengthen curriculum, expand faculty’s horizons and enrich the learning experience of nursing students.”
